After a full day of chasing storms, I was getting in my car to pack up and leave when another cell snuck up on me. The crack of lightning pounded in my chest, and I jumped in to drive away. I decided to stop and take one more picture, so I dropped my tripod out of my car and pressed the shutter. I was lucky enough to capture this beautiful lightning strike behind me.
