Just as I was leaving the house to chase a cell south of Denver, one of my great photographer friends texted me about a cell 2 hours east. It was already 7PM so I was worried about catching it but I headed out east anyway. I ended up about 2.5 hours from Denver when I finally caught this cell. I headed down a country road and shot with my truck lights on to be able to get the foreground in the shot with the lightning blowing up in the cell in the background. At one point I looked up and saw there was a break in the storm cloud above where the lightning was bursting. I’m normally hyper-focused on the lightning but I decided to turn off my truck lights and get a zoomed out view of this beautiful cell against the night sky and country road.
