On the way back from South Dakota we saw a massive storm cell developing right in front of us. There were beautiful mammatus clouds that were blanketing the edges of the cell as we drove in. The light was quickly drowned out from the darkness, and it was pouring in seconds. The lights and shadows were interplaying wonderfully as we drove through the countryside and lightning was starting to rip around us. After we drove through the eye of the storm, the clouds on the periphery of the storm were starting to develop unique shapes as they headed east. I loved how soft and fluffy these clouds looked and I captured a few of them before they headed off into the distance.
