Angels Landing in Utah is often referred to as one of the most dangerous hikes in the United States due to its narrow trails and climbs that skirt the edge of the mountain with a fall that would most likely result in an instant death. Chains line the trail to the top to help propel you and keep your fall at bay on the ascent to the top of the peak. This is one of my favorite hikes as I have done this trail 4 times since 2018. I took a 4 day solo trip in February of 2024 and after failing to get a permit the first time, I was able to secure a permit for the hike on my final day before my 10 hour drive home. The weather was near perfect this morning with the sun just starting to peep through the clouds just after sunrise. This will always be one of my favorite trails I have ever hiked and I was happy to be able to capture this moment right before the major ascent up to the top of Angels Landing.
