In the summer of 2023, I chased a severe storm out east in the early afternoon. I took one of the best rainbow shots of my life and then proceeded to chase down the sunset. As I was shooting on the side of the road, I looked over and saw a collection of wildflowers on the side of the road. I moved around a bit trying to frame a good shot when I found this spot where I could feature the sunflower, the severe cell above it, and the warm and cool tones of the sunset. This is one of my favorite sunflower pictures I have ever taken.
