When I was headed toward Utah from Arizona I decided to look up some slot canyons as it would be a somewhat new experience for me. I found one near the border that looked intriguing and I wanted to check out. At first the canyon was very dry but as I continued through the canyon the water started building up and was filled with dirt which gave the water a chocolate look to it. I worked my way through the winding canyon and found a lot of beautiful spots but this was one of my favorites. It can be hard to shoot in canyons due to the light and shadow difference so I took 3 shots to make this composite to adjust for that fact. I fell in love with slot canyons on this trip thanks to beautiful moments like this that are so hard to put into words.
