I headed back to a spot in Cape Canaveral that I shot at sunset the night before. As I pulled up to the bay, I saw a Great Blue Heron wading through the water. I sprinted over to get ahead of the sun before it walked right into the shining light. The shadows of the bird against the bright light were completely captivating. There was a prescribed burn in the area earlier in the day which lead to the vibrant orange sunset. (This photo is a variant from the same sunset as “Sunset on the Great Blue Heron”.)
